"Arrow" season 5 midseason finale ended with a shocking revelation that Laurel is still alive. However, there are speculations that the Laurel that Oliver found is not her previous self but a villain. Meanwhile, more problems await team Arrow as Prometheus got away.
In "Arrow" season 5, episode 9, Oliver failed to stop Prometheus. To make things worse, he killed the new boyfriend of his ex-fiancee Felicity, thinking it was Prometheus. The evil enemy has set up Billy as himself to trick Oliver. The last scene showed Oliver discovered an alive Laurel inside the lair.
Showrunner Wendy Mericle assured fans there would be no bad blood between Oliver and Felicity due to the unfortunate incident. "One thing Felicity is not going to do, I can tell you for sure, is blame Oliver. She recognizes the manipulations that have led to this situation," she said, as cited by TV line.
Mericle added that Felicity will instead direct his anger to Prometheus and plan a revenge, but she will meet some people related to her past that will change her disposition. "[A]nd that's going to draw her away from the team and lead her to do some things that are pretty morally questionable," Mericle said.
The Arrow team, meanwhile, will also face more crises in "Arrow" season 5, episode 10. Diggle was recaptured while Curtis' husband discovered she was part of the vigilante group. On the other hand, there are speculations that the Laurel who was found alive might not be the same character she used to be but instead her evil Earth-2 version.
"Obviously people don't just come back from the dead, so there has to be some sort of vetting process to make sure that it is Laurel because the group has seen some peculiar things," Stephen Amell who plays the role of Oliver said in a report. He teased fans that his character will not trust Laurel right away.
"Arrow" season 5, episode 10 titled "Who are you?" will air on Jan. 25, 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
