Aghanim's Scepter is definitely one of the most powerful items in Dota 2. It upgrades the ultimate abilities of some heroes in the game. In the earlier versions of Dota 2, only a handful of heroes have upgradeable ultimates. Surprisingly, with the newest Dota 2 7.00 update, Valve added more upgradeable ultimate abilities and reworked some of the existing upgrades in the game. Here are the most overpowered Aghanim's Scepter upgrades in Dota 2 7.00.
Aghanim's Scepter Upgrade Additions
Anti-Mage Spell Shield. Anti-Mage will be elusive more than ever with his ultimate upgrade that triggers a spell shield which passively blocks and reflects a targeted spell every 12 seconds. Take note that this does not only block or reflect, but both block and reflect a targeted spell! It's like a combination of Linken's Sphere and Lotus Orb. Catching a late-game Anti-Mage will never be harder than it already is.
Slark Umbrella Shadow Dance. Aghanim's Scepter for Slark reduces 50% cooldown for his ultimate from 60 seconds to 30. The coolest part is that the upgrade also enables the Shadow Dance to be a 325 AoE ability, hiding all allied heroes beneath it. Slark can now finally contribute bigger in team fights.
Sniper Multi-Hero Assassinate. Just when you thought Sniper could never be more annoying in team fights with his Maelstrom, Valve just buffed him more in this Dota 7.00 update. His Aghanim upgrade enables his Assassinate to target the ground with 400 AoE that locks onto the targets in the area. So if there are five heroes sitting on that area when Sniper locked his skill, they'll be all targeted with Assassinate even if they leave that spot.
Aghanim's Scepter Upgrade Reworks
Skywrath Mage. Every time you cast a spell on a target, a different random target within 700 AoE will also be targeted, heroes prioritized. For example, if you Arcane Bolt a target, you will also Arcane Bolt another different target that is within the 700 AoE. And take note that this also works on his ultimate ability! Isn't that dope? This is only one of the biggest changes in Dota 2 with 7.00 update.
Zeus Nimbus Cloud. The last on the list is Zeus new ability unlocked after purchasing an Aghanim's Scepter called Nimbus. It creates a storm cloud anywhere on the map that automatically casts Lightning Bolt on the closest enemy within 500 AoE every 2.5 seconds. Nimbus has a 100 gold bounty and requires eight ranged hero hits to kill. This ability is perfect when your team is having a fight, or just helping them gank. You can also use this similar to Invoker's Sunstrike ability. For more information about the changes in Dota 2, you read the patch log on the official site.
