The first DLC map for Battlefield 1 will come within the week through the Giant's Shadow DLC especially for those who Premium Pass pre-orders, and this map will be bringing all of its players to France. Along with this release, there is also a new patch which will be released and DICE gave out full notes about it. The map will be enjoyed by everyone on Dec. 20 for free.
The patch includes many features and one of its greatest improvement is the Spectator Mode. Players will be joining a live BF1 match with the role of an observer in the Spectator. Observers are capable of switching from first-person to third-person camera views of all of its players on the battlefield through the use of Player View mode. The Table Top mode will enable the overhead bird's eye view of the battlefield. The Free Cam mode will allow players to fly a camera.
DICE further stated that they got information and feedback from Spectator Modes of the previous Battlefield versions. Most of the efforts that they have exerted from these are intended for the usability of this mode.
There is a custom game option that was added into the game, and it is called Standard Issue Rifles. In the SIR, almost all of the kits are granted access into the standard issue rifle for their faction. One good example for this is when the British were given access to the SMLE MKIII. Although these rifles are were not equipped with optics, they can still be used to give players a gameplay similar to the World War 1 experience.
The Custom Game option can be enabled or disabled especially for the purpose of creating variety of experiences. However, SIR is not made available as part of the base experience for the game, as reported by Attack of the Fan Boy.
