The arrival of the Giulia base and Quadrifoglio in the shores of North America has already been confirmed by Alfa Romeo. Given the fact that the Giulia will only be available in two trims, buyers are not left with many options to choose from. Apparently, the automaker is one step ahead as it works on a Veloce trim bound for U.S market.
The Current Alfa Romeo Giulia Trims
According to report from Road and Track, the Alfa Romeo Giulia is currently only available in two trims. The first trim is the base Giulia Sedan that is capable of 280 horsepower and has a starting price of a little below $39,000. The other trim is the Giulia Quadrifoglio that has a more powerful configuration cranking out 505 horsepower and has a price tag of over $70,000.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce
Given the fact that there is a huge difference between the horsepower and price range of the two trims for the Alfa Romeo Giulia that are bound for the U.S, people would want something to fill that gap. Apparently, Alfa Romeo is already working on it. According to report from Top Speed, another trim that is capable of 350 horsepower is now being developed. It was mentioned that it will be called the "Veloce". Accordingly, the U.S bound Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will only come with an automatic transmission gearbox. Other than the possible number of horses that will be placed under the hood and the drivetrain however, no other details have been released yet.
The Waiting Game Begins
The 2017 Alfa Romeo Giulia base trim and Quadrifoglio are not set to land in North American Shores until the first month of the following year as reported. Given this fact, it remains to be seen whether or not the Veloce will come along with the other two trims or will follow after them. Interested buyers wll just have to wait and see.
