PlayStation 4 Pro Upgrades Guide: Final Fantasy XV, Assassin’s Creed: The Ezio Collection, Rise Of The Tomb Raider, Dishonored 2, More

The PlayStation 4 Pro upgrades have been rolled out en bloc and they can be a tad confusing. Many of the upgrades are mere resolution enhancements. In the meantime, patches were also released that brought new features and performance enhancements. Here are the upgrades for select games on PlayStation 4 Pro that you might have.

Final Fantasy XV

Square Enix gives Final Fantasy XV a configured 4K screen backed by 1800p checkerboard resolution. The "lite" mode can cut back to the standard 30fps for PlayStation 4 to avoid bad frame-pacing issues. Pro support also offers HDR.

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection for PlayStation Pro doesn't support its 30fps lock at full, native 2160p without an Ultra HD display. It trims the game's resolution down to 1080p.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider

The patch 1.06 of Rise of the Tomb Raider gives PlayStation 4 Pro owners with 1080p and 4K displays to love the game. The improved visual mode keeps the 1080p image quality, and adds the improved PureHair technology, true-to-life reflections, soft shadows, higher LODs, better foliage and improved texture filtering. Note however that areas like the Soviet Installation and Geothermal Valley seem to bring down the frame rate to 40 fps from 60 fps.

Dishonored 2

Dishonored 2 brings a great resolution boost of up to 1440p if the console is attached to a 4K display. On the other hand, it remains in 1080p if the console is connected to a full HD screen. Overall, PlayStation 4 Pro outperforms PlayStation 4 in terms of engine-drive scenes which the former can only drop to 30 fps while the latter drops lower than that.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

The greatest upgrade for Uncharted 4: A Thief's End for PlayStation 4 Pro comes with the resolution. The latest patch brings up resolution up to 1440p on 4K screens. HDR is also supported for more details and improved imageries.
