World of Warcraft: Brand New Elysium Server Will Launch This Weekend

It appears that the unauthorized World of Warcraft server, Elysium, is now immensely growing so much that the private server is on its way to launch its fresh new PVP realm this weekend. Let's take a look at the current state of the server that inherited the legacy of Nostalrius.

World of Warcraft: Elysium

Earlier of last year, one of the biggest unofficial Vanilla servers, Nostalrius, was taken down by Blizzard's lawyers in an attempt to purge all of the existing World of Warcraft private servers. After the incident, tons of players had signed a petition for the conception of a Blizzard-owned vanilla server - to which Blizzard and Nostalrius' developers then discussed several months following the private server's closure.

At first, it was going pretty well, with most of the developers having high hopes of the revival of Nostalrius. But a couple of months passed by but there had been no hints about Blizzard's action towards the establishment of a classic server in which, the Nostalrius' developers then took the matters into their own hands. By passing the source codes and tools to Elysium, the latter then established a fresh new private server which was launched way back in December.

Weeks following its release, the new server named Project Elysium has seen astounding popularity amongst the World of Warcraft community so much that it always had a long queues and always having max player cap throughout its uptimes. As a result, the developers are now setting to launch a new server called Elysium PVP Fresh Realm this weekend to augment and cater the growing community. The exact release date for the upcoming server is scheduled on Saturday, 7th of January at around the noon in Europe.

Meanwhile, Elysium is currently suffering from other factors aside from Blizzard which we covered and reported here. The upcoming server hopes to solve the concurrent issues attributed to high traffic and pop cap.

Despite the growing popularity of the private server, it's interesting to note that Blizzard has yet to act or issue a statement regarding Nostalrius and Elysium. Will Blizzard make another cease and desist order to Elysium? Share your thoughts in the comments down below!
