Mass Effect Andromeda has skills and leveling system that are quite different from the previous series. Here is a rough guide on how to unlock and upgrade the new skills and powers in the upcoming game.
Powers and Skills
Before we proceed, this guide is based on the best available information so far about Mass Effect Andromeda. It's likely that some of the details will changed once the game's final version is released. The demo showed the skill menu of each character. The most detailed is Ryder's so we are going to use this one as a guide.
So far, Ryder's skill sets are grouped into three namely, Biotics, Combat and Tech. The skills are further divided into passive abilities and active powers. This time though, the skills can be mixed in a variety of ways. Good news is that each unlocked ability will enhanced at least one of the Pathfinder profiles.
Upgrading Your Skills
Mass Effect Andromeda skills are unlocked by using the experience points you earned from the game. Each level attained also entitles you to several skill points which is use to upgrade the various abilities and powers. Interestingly, each skill has upgrade tree with several augmentations. You had to choose wisely though since some of the skill selections are quite exclusive. For example, you will need to decide between inflicting greater damage and boosting your recharge speed.
