New Overwatch Update Nerfs Roadhog's Hook Once Again

As promised by Blizzard, Overwatch received updates after updates as soon as 2017 entered. One is the recently added map called Oasis. After being made available in the PTR (Public Test Realm), the new Control Point map has found its way to the live servers. And now, the studio is once again bringing new changes to a number of heroes -- one of which seems to be an all-time favorite, Roadhog.

In the official Blizzard forums, the principal designer of Overwatch Geoff Goodman revealed about a new and upcoming update. He iterated that he and his team intend are pushing for yet another update to the game's PTR. And surprisingly, it's bringing massive balance tweaks to Roadhog, Ana and Sombra.

The forthcoming Overwatch update is more focused on Roadhog's hook. The new patch is said to make it easier to hook an opponent who is even partially revealed. Most importantly, it's making the skill's line-of-sight check even more stable. That means whenever an enemy is hooked, he/she won't be able to escape that easily, compared to before.

Another change brought to the aforementioned Overwatch hero is the hooked targets. These are substantially heavily slowed and stunned, despite them being up in the air. For instance, a player is trying to strafe away from the character and is caught by the hook, the target is less likely to get away. So, in a sense, there's a higher chance that the skill won't be broken.

It's safe to say that the new Overwatch update is all about balancing (call it nerf actually) Roadhog. Nonetheless, Blizzard has also brought a couple of tweaks to Ana and Sombra. The sniper-healer's Biotic Grenade has shortened its duration to 4 seconds (from 5 seconds). The newly added hero's ultimate, on the other hand, is down to 8 seconds from the original figure of 12 seconds.

What are your thoughts on the brand new changes Blizzard is bringing to Overwatch? Do you agree with the tweaks the studio did to Roadhog? How about to Ana and Sombra? Be sure to share us what you're thinking at the comment section below!
