Watch Jason Vorhees Slaughter Unsuspecting Teens In Friday The 13th Game Trailer

Though horror video games like Resident Evil and Outlast usually have the player running away from the monsters in the games,Friday the 13th actually puts the players in the shoes of the monster as they run around terrorizing teenagers as Jason Vorhees. A new gameplay trailer has come out, and it showcases all of the different abilities and powers that Jason will have in the game.

The clip lasts for about two-and-a-half minutes, and it has a very retro-looking intro that seems to harken back to the first films that were released back in the 80s. As for Jason's skillset, he seems to be able to wield his classic machete that he uses to take down his victims; he is also able to aim and throw knives from a distance. Victims can also be killed by the environment, as the person Jason is chasing down gets hit by a car.

The skill that stands out the most, however, is his ability to teleport from one place to another. This is probably the game's way of explaining how Jason is able to pop up right behind his victims despite always moving very slow whenever he is onscreen.

For those wondering about the lore of Friday the 13th, the central villain is Jason Vorhees, an indestructible behemoth of a man who wears a signature hockey mask and kills unsuspecting victims with a machete. He lurks in Camp Crystal Lake and "defends" the place from anyone who seeks to intrude it. History has it that he drowned in the lake as a boy, and his mother Pamela Vorhees (Betsy Palmer) was actually the one who killed anybody who tried to reopen the camp after her son drowned. Though Jason is the face of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, he did not appear with his signature look until the second movie.

No official release date has been announced for Friday the 13th, but it's expected to be released sometime early 2017.
