The brains behind the highly acclaimed Dead Space that spawned multiple sequels namely: Dead Space 2 and Dead Space 3 have teamed up with former Bioshock developers to create "The Scariest PS4 Horror Game" title Perception. Here's what we know so far:
Perception: Scariest PS4 Horror Game
Horror games are gaining in popularity especially in PS4 where it's becoming more and more of a trend on the VR platform. One of the first horror games to offer immersive gaming experience is Resident Evil 7 which is set to be released next week. Aside from that, a myriad of horror titles are coming for this year including the highly anticipated Outlast 2 which is expected to contest the latest iteration of the Resident Evil franchise. Amidst the ongoing trend of the horror genre, a newly found team composed of former Dead Space and Bioshock developers announced their plans about Perception, the PS4 exclusive title that will soon haunt your consoles.
The team described Perception as a "first-person narrative horror adventure that tells the story of Cassie, a blind heroine who uses her extraordinary hearing and razor-sharp wits to unravel the mysteries of an abandoned estate that haunts her dreams."
What's New?
Perception offers a new way to experience a surreal horror game as it uses echolocation in which the main character uses to "see" and explore the haunted mansion. According to the game's rough overview, players will have to use sounds to make their way into the entire storyline. By creating noise, Cassie will "see" what's going on within her surroundings and also will be the guiding light for the players. But using echolocation has its consequence. According to the developers, "sound will attract your enemies and reveal your location."
This means that the game will revolve around hiding and stealth to avoid enemies and to make use of the mansion's ambient sounds to help her navigate safely. It's still unclear what the player can do once Cassie got spotted but we're pretty sure that this game will offer a whole new thrill to us! Hopefully the game will come with VR support feature.
