Pokemon Sun and Moon do not currently offer a method to bring in our best buddies from previous games, but that is about to change with Pokemon Bank. It has already been confirmed to be arriving in January; we just don't know when exactly. Now, reports speculate that it is coming very very soon.
Pokemon Sun And Moon Battle Season 2 To Bring Pokemon Bank?
The onset of Battle Season 2 is speculated to be the signal of Pokemon Bank's arrival in Pokemon Sun and Moon. This is because the event apparently "alters things to allow for the inclusion of Pokémon through the National Pokédex," according to Serebii. Now that Battle Season 2 has commenced, we suspect that Pokemon Bank is just on the horizon.
There are about 10 days left until the end of the month, so we may get an announcement anytime soon. Our only hope is that Nintendo follows through its promise of a January 2017 launch.
How Will Pokemon Bank Change Pokemon Sun And Moon?
Well, for one thing, Pokemon Bank allows for transfers from Pokemon X and Y and Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. The way it works is that you "deposit" a monster from said titles to the bank, then you "withdraw" it onto Pokemon Sun and Moon. It really is as simple as that.
This way, you will be able to share your adventure once again alongside the pals with whom you went through a lot the previous years. It is also pretty useful in tapping the strength of some Legendaries you've acquired through those years (which is probably why it was not released at the get go).
It should be noted, however, that those you've transferred to Pokemon Sun and Moon cannot be transferred back to the older games. Once you've welcomed them in Alola, they're never getting out. Furthermore, you will not be able to transport items, according to the official website.
Pokemon Bank Update To Also Bring Poke Transporter
Still got the really really old games? Worry not, for you can still welcome your really really old friends into your Alola dream team through Poke Transporter. It's named as such because it transports your Pokemon to the Pokemon Bank; only then can you transfer them to Pokemon Sun and Moon.
Once it's updated, you can now get back together with your Pokemon in the virtual console versions of Red, Blue and Yellow: Special Pikachu Edition. It is also compatible with Black and White and Black 2 and White 2. It's also important to note here that this works like a one-way street, so they won't be able to go back to where they come from. As of now, you can use this app to transfer Pokemon from older titles to Pokemon X and Y and Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.
That's about everything you need to know for now. We'll walk you through the step by step process of using Pokemon Bank or Poke Transporter for Pokemon Sun and Moon once they go live. We expect an official word from Nintendo in the next few days, so stay tuned!
