The fan-favorite Clash Royale Draft Challenge, previously known as Crown Duel Challenge, has come back for a limited time. There will be two modes: Classic and Grand. As per usual, participation is not free, but the prizes at stake are worth the try.
Clash Royale Draft Challenge Mechanics
The Draft Challenge only lasts three days, so those who enjoyed the Crown Duel Challenge should not miss this chance. It can also be played with clanmates and friends via the Friendly Battle menu. Participation in the Classic Draft Challenge costs 10 Gems, while Grand Draft Challenge requires 100 Gems.
The way it works is that two random cards are brought up and you have 30 seconds to pick one. The one you picked will be included in your deck and the one you didn't pick will go to your opponent's. This goes on until you have picked four cards. Your opponent goes through the same thing, so that means you will have eight cards at the end.
Try not to lose three battles as you will be kicked out then. Don't worry, though, as you will be awarded the respective prize in Classic or Grand Draft tournament.
Clash Royale Draft Challenge Prizes
The Clash Royale Draft Challenge's two modes follow the rewards given by the Classic and Grand modes of Victory Challenges. The Classic Draft Challenge may award you up to 2,000 Gold and 100 cards, while the Grand Draft Challenge can give you up to 22,000 Gold and 1,100 cards.
You get to the top prize by winning 12 matches in both modes. The participation fee will also not be wasted as you are guaranteed a prize even if you have zero wins. The amount of Gold and cards you can take home increase as you win more battles.
So, How To Win The Draft Challenge?
We recommend trying the Draft Challenge with your friends first before you spend Gems on a tournament. You're in this to win it, so you want to be prepared as much as possible. And since players have already gone through this before, there are loads of tips scattered all over the internet.
Redditor CDFalcon was kind enough to give Clash Royale users some tips on choosing a card. According to the user, you should always have a defensive troop or building, one or two supports, and one or two offensive win condition.
Your choices are limited, however, so make sure you pick each of the said types everytime the opportunity presents itself. CDFalcon has compiled a list of (what he thinks are) the best cards to draft and the cards to give to your opponent.
Another strategy you can do is to absolutely have one of each: win condition, defensive, counterpusher and spell as suggested by contributor Gc0068. A few other tips I can give, though, is to not give your opponent Sparky if you don't have Zap or Freeze.
Fans absolutely love the Clash Royale Draft Challenge that they are petitioning for its permanent inclusion in the Victory Challenges section. Though nothing has come out of it yet.
