Overwatch News: Triple Tank Meta Not Dead Yet

Following the recent Overwatch nerfs containing Roadhog's hook and Ana's healing grenade, many fans believed that the current meta would end. However, it seems like the changes did not fully eliminate the popular picks in the game.

Debunking Fan Myths From the Current Patch

The latest 1.7 patch contains some of the most controversial changes the game has ever had so far. Many fans have expressed their concerns on the game's official forums over Roadhog, D.Va and Ana's functionality after Blizzard balanced most of their skills. While some complaints were unwarranted, it seems fitting enough for fans to worry over the two of the most popular tanks in the game.

However, players were able to observe how the pros made the most of the changes during the NGE Winter Premiere Tournament, as per Game Revolution. During the event, Roadhog still maintains his current standing during competitive play as he is still powerful but just not unstoppable. Furthermore, his hook is a bit harder to land but places his targets in a more optimal position.

Meanwhile, many players are still going by the triple tank meta despite D.Va's health nerf. While she is still not the DPS killer she once was, the hero can still get some solid kills with her guns and ultimate. In spite of this, pro players still rely on her exploding mech as a zoning tool instead of aiming for one-hit kills.

Similarly, Ana and Lucio are still the top picked heroes despite the 50 percent healing decrease towards the grenade's passive ability. The two healers still provide some very solid healing while being able to shut down distracted enemies. Although, it is worth noting that players are now picking more DPS heroes like McCree and Genji.

Another Impending Overwatch Issue

That aside, Blizzard plans on fixing another impending issue in the upcoming patch, as per PlayStation LifeStyle. Community manager Lylirra explained that Mei's new skins are glitchy and make her seem skinnier than she actually is. Her waist is much smaller than normal and looks like abnormality when players view it from a certain angle.

Meanwhile, it is still unsure if the popular 'Capture The Flag' mode will ever make its way as a staple mode in the arcade. Blizzard might eventually focus on fine tuning the mode before permanently implementing it in the game. For now, fans will just have to wait for further news regarding future Overwatch updates.
