Overwatch has recently reached a stellar number of 25 million active players for the month of January. With the community ballooning at an astonishing rate, it's not surprising to see that more and more competitive tournaments start to sprout every now and then. Today, an upcoming LAN tournament is set to hold an arcade competition particularly Overwatch's 3v3 and 1v1 Arcade modes.
Overwatch 3v3 and 1v1 Tournaments
Esports Arena will host the hottest Arcade tournament in Overwatch yet. The event is expecting to hold a separate 3v3 and 1v1 tournaments which will commence beginning next month. According to their official site, the Fireteam 3v3 Tournament and Duel 1v1 Tournament will be streamed live on these schedules: February 9, 16 & 23 at 5 PM PST for the 3v3 tournament while the 1v1 tournament is scheduled on March 9, 16 & 23. Here are the formats for the aforementioned events:
Fireteam 3v3
Players will engage in a fast-paced arena setting where the wining team will bring home a hefty $10,000 prize money. The tournament is divided in three weekly events. First week, Feb 9, Open Swiss. At 8 PM PST, Semifinals for this given bracket will commence. The same schedule will follow for its second week, Feb 16. On the third week, Feb 23, Agents Fireteam Finals will commence beginning at 5 PM PST. To view the complete rules, click here.
Duel 1v1
Players will go in a battle royale of survival of the fittest where the top 16 players will share the $10,000 prize money. Just like in Fireteam 3v3, the tournament is divided in three weekly events. First week, March 9, Open Swiss. At 8 PM PST, Group Stage will commence. On the second and third weeks, 64 persons will battle it out in a single elimination bracket (32 invited pros and 32 open qualifiers). To view the complete format, click here.
