Before the month ends, LG will launch the most awaited G6. It is said to be the new flagship of LG that is expected to feature a 5.7-inch QHD+ display. Ahead of that, however, we can take a look at what the device will look like. Thanks to the new pictures acquired by Droid-Life, we can confirm whether LG G6 will indeed sport a sleek metal frame or not.
LG G6 Leaked Images
We are now less than a month away from the official announcement of the LG G6 at MWC 2017 in Barcelona. According to Techno Buffalo, the photos from Droid-Life reveal a device that is not final yet. As you look at the image, you can see that the back plate is missing and there are wires sticking out of it. The fingerprint sensor and power button combination are in its familiar place, located just below a dual-camera setup.
The LG G6 is said to be unveiled at an event on February 26, and many are saying that the leaked images are just a click bait for all of the fans. The rumored photos show off the phone’s chamfered metal frame all over it, along with a USB-C port of the smartphone. Although the pictures don’t show it, the headphone jack is expected to be placed on top of the device, so you can easily hang on to your wired earbuds for a little longer.
This may not be the LG G6's back ends up looking like especially in terms of material choices. The smartphone should have a metal unibody construction, and what's portrayed in the leaked image is a different back shell used for testing. However, the placement of the dual rear camera as well as the fingerprint sensor/home button looks accurate based on what we have read and seen from leaked renders before.
LG G6 Rumored Specs And Features
According to Trusted Reviews, LG may be forced to use the Snapdragon 821 chip for the upcoming flagship under the name G6. A new report suggests that Samsung has bagged first dibs on the initial run of new the Snapdragon 835 processors. There’s no denying that the existing LG G5 was a powerful device as it featured Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 system-on-a-chip.
There’s also a very big chance that the most anticipated LG G6 will feature a USB Type-C port, just like its predecessor. It will also retain or even improve the 32GB of storage and 4GB of RAM. The LG G6 may have a 4K display and settled on screen sizes that measure between 5-inches and 5.5-inches from corner to corner. If the LG G5 is anything to go by, the LG G6 could really rock the boat in terms of features.
There’s only one option for the LG G6 in terms of software, and that would be the Android 7.0 Nougat. This latest version of Android is available for some flagships such as Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 6, Nexus 5X and LG V20. HTC has also offered the update on the HTC 10, One A9 and One M9. In that case, it's more likely that LG G6 will also come with the same version of Android.
