Poké Pelago is the new feature introduced in Pokémon Sun and Moon where players can use their Pokémon from their respective boxes to help them do myriad of tasks. The Poké Pelago is consists of five different islands - each of which, has its own function. Activities such as training, treasure-hunting, berry planting and etc. can be performed here. These time-based activities may take a while especially when you want to EV train your Pokémon. But today, an anonymous player has serendipitously found a bug that can instantly finish all Poké Pelago activities.
Pokémon Sun and Moon: Poké Pelago Glitch
An anonymous player has posted an apparent glitch from the 4chan board stating that he noted a weird incident about the Poké Pelago after the change of the month. According to the poster, he had two groups that were currently on queue in the Isle Evelup and were on the process of finishing their sessions. He then proceeded to put his Oricorio on the third available group and put the Pokémon in a 63 sessions. After two hours, he found out that aside from the two groups, his Oricorio also finished all of its 63 sessions instantly.
Upon posting on the 4chan board, many fans also stated that they experienced the same glitch overnight. Some pointed out that it could be the result of the game transitioning to the next month. After a couple of tests, an anonymous fan finally made a conclusion that it was indeed due to the transitioning of the month from January 31, 2017 to February 1, 2017 and made a video showing how the glitch is actually made and can be exploited consistently. Pokémon Sun and Moon: How To Exploit The Poké Pelago Glitch
Basically the Poké Pelago glitch instantly finishes all of the islands' activities including Berry growing, EV training/Leveling, treasure-hunting, etc. by simply altering the 3DS internal clock. Here is the step-by-step process as highlighted from the given thread above:
Step 1: Visit Poké Pelago and begin all of your time-based activities (plant Berries, send Pokémon to find treasures, etc.).
Step 2: Save the game and go to your 3DS system settings. Set the date exactly to 1/31/2017 and the time to 23:59
Step 3: Close the settings and re-open the game. Wait until the clock hits 00:00.
Step 4: Visit Poké Pelago and voila! All of your Poké Pelago activities are finished instantly!
The Drawback
Since you're altering the date and time of your 3DS, you will be sacrificing once-a-day activities such as buying items from Festival Plaza, etc. After a couple of tests, the poster confirmed that you can still do wonder trade, and random battling even after altering your 3DS' internal clock.
As of the time of this writing, the glitch can still be performed without any problems. But this bug may only be short-lived as it'll definitely be hotfixed by Game Freak sooner or later. Nonetheless, it's pretty neat that you can instantly finish all your Poké Pelago activities instantly as it can undoubtedly save you from tons of hours grinding these time-based activities. This is by far one of the most gamebreaking bugs after the Swap Breeding method.
