Among the new features of the LG Optimus G2 will be a design change with rearranged button placement, according to a South Korean publication.
etnews states that the Optimus G2 will have its volume keys and Home button on its back, and also have volume rockers next to the camera. The publication states that LG made the change "in order to maximize user convenience and make the body even slimmer." Prior to the design change, LG reportedly conducted "tens of thousands of simulation tests."
The Optimus G Pro has a physical Home button next to two capacitive keys. In contrast, the first Optimus G had the Home, Back and Menu keys under the display, with volume rockers on the left and the power button on the right.
The publication also provided some details regarding specs for the LG Optimus G2. They are said to include a 440ppi Full HD LCD display, 2.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera and 13-megapixel rear-facing camera.
These are only rumors and LG has not yet made any official announcements regarding the Optimus G2. A recent report has indicated that LG will unveil the device later this year at IFA 2013. LG is also expected to announce new products to be released in the U.S. on May 1 at a media event scheduled to take place in New York.
The rumors follow the appearance of a mystery LG device in GLBenchmark test results. The device, labeled LG D801, dominated its competition and could in fact be the Optimus G2.
