NBA 2K17 Receives A Quick 7.6GB Patch; Added All-Star Tournament And More

Recently, NBA 2K17 receives a quick patch which reportedly adds All-Star Tournament and fixes the glitch found on the Hop Step. Meanwhile, fans confirmed that the new update for PlayStation 4 will come with 7.6GB in size.

Based on the tweet from the NBA 2K Community Manager Chris Manning, the new patch only includes the above-mentioned fixes and addition. However, NBA 2K17 PlayStation 4 players mentioned on Reddit that the patch is too large and will consume some time to download in order to play the game again.

Meanwhile, Manning's tweet did not talk about on the patch notes. However, the All-Star Tournament has an event which starts this month. According to the official All-Star Tournament website of NBA 2K, the Rounds 1 and 2 of the Pacific Time Tournament will officially begin on February 4.

For those who are uninitiated, the NBA 2K17 All-Star Tournament is an in-game eSports event that allows players having an elite rank to compete against other players. Furthermore, the grand prize of the said event is $250,000 which will be divided among five winners.

According to the report from The BitBag, NBA 2K17 patch 1.10 mentions a fix on the previous Hop Step exploits. As seen on the gameplay, the Hop Step is a very quick move with a deceiving animation to evade your defender. Based on the report, the move's speed is difficult to challenge and might be overused against other players. Hop Steps can be used anywhere on the court to easily upset opposing players. However, with the recent fix for the Hop Step exploit, the chances of players achieving a quick victory are now reduced.

Furthermore, the fix on the Hop Step exploits actually make sense since 2K is running an eSports event. Though it is just a single move, but it is too overpowered which might be used over and over again to win matches. As a result, the essence of showcasing skills might become a contest of the best Hop Steps in the game.
