Even as Samsung's flagship smartphone for 2013, the Galaxy S4, gears up to make its way to consumers, the grapevine cannot seem to get enough of the alleged third-gen phablet from the Korean company - the Galaxy Note 3. The latest rumor doing the rounds is that the colossal smartphone will tout the world's first plastic organic light-emitting diode (OLED) screen.
According to a reports, Samsung is looking to introduce the first plastic OLED screen in the impending Galaxy Note 3. The plastic substrate will allegedly have Low Temperature Polycrystalline Silicon (LTPS) active matrix and RGB patterned OLED. "Samsung wants to introduce the first plastic OLED display in the upcoming Galaxy Note III," SamMobile's report said.
"Samsung Electronics Company (SEC) will exhibit a new Galaxy NOTE 3, featuring an unbreakable OLED display at IFA 2013 in September and plans to launch the product in Q4'2013. The new plastic OLED is also believed to be quite tough and is even being labeled "unbreakable" by many. Moreover, per reports, the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to have a display size that ranges "from 5.5-inch up to 6.x-inch."
Moreover, the Note 3 will be just 8mm thick, compared to the Galaxy Note 2's 9.4mm thickness. The resolution for the device was not revealed.
