The possibility of the Xbox Scorpio exclusives has been denied by Microsoft from the beginning, claiming that the console isn't going to feature any games that are exclusive to it unless they're VR titles. Even if Microsoft did allow any Scorpio exclusives, it would have been difficult to incorporate due to the installment base.
No Exclusives For The Xbox Scorpio
According to SegmentNext, when the Scorpio was first introduced, it seemed like a number of developers might have expressed their interest to put games exclusively on the Scorpio. The Scorpio, being so much more powerful than its predecessor, the Xbox One, would be able to likely deal with a number of high-quality graphically demanding Xbox One games, if they were allowed to put exclusives on it.
Why Exclusives Are Impossible For The Scorpio
However, the reason why Xbox Scorpio exclusives were removed was because Microsoft said that every game that would be coming to the Xbox One Scorpio would also be available for the regular Xbox One, and vice versa. Considering the wide installment base of the Xbox One, developing and making games exclusively for the Scorpio would be a difficult decision with a number of drawbacks on every side.
On the other hand, the games being available for both the regular Xbox One and the Scorpio would be graphically held back so that the games could be played on both. Putting these games exclusively on the Scorpio would also almost guarantee a huge jump in sales especially if it was a highly anticipated game, as many people might not be willing to buy what is practically the same console that's just capable of rendering higher graphical quality and framerate.
Will The Future Be Bright For The Scorpio?
According to GamingBolt, while the Xbox Scorpio isn't going to be coming anytime soon, hopefully when it does officially come out, the console will be a huge success and the games are going to look good on the console even if they are limited by the original Xbox One and with zero Xbox Scorpio exclusives coming out.
