Prometheus 2: 3 Things We Want From The Sequel

Prometheus was arguably the best sci-fi film of 2012, so the bar is set pretty high for Prometheus 2, whenever the sequel finally lands in theaters. With the recent drama involving Damon Lindelof and his exit from the franchise, fans have cause to worry. Many have taken to the interwebs to voice their concerns and hopes for the future of Prometheus.

A Prometheus sequel is all but guaranteed, given the first movie's critical and box-office success. The Prometheus sequel will have a 2014 or early 2015 release date and Twentieth Century Fox already owns the domain "Paradise-Movie.com," the rumored title for Prometheus 2.

What do the fans want, though? We've rounded up our favorite hopes and dreams for the Prometheus sequel:

Prometheus 2: Sequel Rumors - Space Jockey Homeworld

Prometheus was able to at least partially satiate every Alien fan's wish to learn more about the Space Jockey by revealing what he looks like beneath the encounter suit. But now we want more — namely, we want to see the planet the Space Jockey comes from. Since the second to last scene of the film shows Noomi Rapace's character blasting off in one of the Engineers' ships in search of their planet, it's pretty likely that this wish will pan out.

Prometheus 2: Sequel Rumors - More Xenomorph Action

We were promised an Alien tie-in in Prometheus and the final scene did not disappoint. We won't spoil it here in case you haven't seen the movie, but suffice it to say that the Alien DNA Ridley Scott referred to in the press junkets leading up to the Prometheus release date is more than viable.

But again, we want more. Some of the fan-created concept art for Prometheus 2 shows scenes ostensibly set on the Xenomorph homeworld, which would be a wet dream come true.

Prometheus 2: Sequel Rumors - More Damon Lindelof

It's next to impossible that Damon Lindelof will have a writing credit on Prometheus 2, but a nerd can hope. Let's face it — Prometheus was as good as it was not only because of Ridley Scott's direction, but Damon Lindelof and Jon Spaihts' remarkably awesome screenplay. Let's at least hope that the next screenwriter attached is as good as these two.
