Consumers in the U.S. will finally be able to lay their hands on the 16GB variant of the Galaxy S4, as the device starts making its way to the shelves. However, while U.S. carriers have begun offering the 16GB version of the smartphone, the 32GB and 64GB versions are notably missing in action.
What's more, per reports, the accessibility of the 32GB and 64GB versions of the Galaxy S4 remains circumspect and nothing is known with regard to their availability.
"While the Samsung Galaxy S4 has finally landed in the United States, starting with its arrival on AT&T today, there are still some questions that consumers have about its release, namely, where the 32GB and the 64GB Galaxy S4 models are and whether they will ever be arriving at all," reports GottaBeMobile.
Samsung took the wraps off its successor to the best-selling Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4, on March 14 and at the time confirmed that the smartphone will be available in three variants, namely 16GB, 32GB and 64GB. The Korean company stuck to the same storage options as it had for the Galaxy S3 as well.
Moreover, the Galaxy S4 packs in a microSD slot that enables users to upgrade their handsets to an additional 64GB of storage. With users downloading apps, games and more, the option of having extra storage is quite sought out.
While the release of the Galaxy S4 in the U.S. inches closer, the availability of the 32GB and 64GB variants remains shrouded in mystery, with no concrete information forthcoming from the carriers.
Carrier AT&T told GottaBeMobile that "it has no specific information about the 32GB Galaxy S4′s arrival."
We'll just have to wait and see when carriers like T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, AT&T and Verizon will offer these versions, especially considering they have offered the 32GB versions of the predecessor Galaxy S3.
