The rumor mill about the next-generation iPhone 5S has been churning for quite awhile now. Now a recent rumor indicates that the iPhone 5S will have a dual-shot camera feature similar to rival Samsung's Galaxy S4.
Apple has not announced a launch date for the iPhone 5S, but many market observers believe that the Cupertino company may soon take the wraps off the purported device.
"Even though we are not expecting the iPhone 5S to debut at Apple's WWDC 2013, the event that will open its gates for the public on June 10th, we have fresh details about the new flagship smartphone developed by the Cupertino-based giant," reports iOSDoc.
Previous rumors indicate that the iPhone 5S will pack in an improved primary camera that will have a 12-megapixel sensor. However, iOSDoc also managed to get in touch with an Apple software engineer who works on the team responsible for the camera aspects of the upcoming iOS 7-powered device. iOSDoc cites the software engineer and claims that the iPhone 5S will also come with an improved front-facing camera that will now have a 2-megapixel sensor, compared to the 1.3-megapixel camera found on the iPhone 5S.
"How is that good news? Well, besides the fact that the new front-facing camera of the iPhone 5S will now have full HD video recording capabilities, the new iOS 7 will bring support for capturing photos with the front-facing and primary camera at the same time. Well, it's pretty cool to be able to take a photo of what's in front of you, while at the same time squeeze yourself into the photo, and things will work the same while recording videos, too," notes iOSDoc.
Many smartphone users may love the dual-shot camera feature of the iPhone 5S but is it enough to steal Galaxy S4's thunder?
