Pokemon Go: This New Pokemon Seemingly Dethrones Dragonite As The Strongest Monster

Following the Gen 2 update, one Pokemon has been dominating most of the gyms in Pokemon Go. It seems like Dragonite might finally be dethroned as the most powerful Pokemon in the current monster pool.

The Pokemon Go Meta Shifts After the Gen 2 Update

Kotaku reports that Blissey has been dominating gyms in the mobile games lately. Despite its pink and cheerful appearance, this Pokemon is one of the more powerful additions from the update because of its massive health pool. Fittingly enough, players often used the same character as a tank in the mainline series.

For the case of the mobile game, it is more often than not that players would run out of time before actually taking the Pokemon down. Moreover, the monster also has high CP potential alongside an incredible stamina stat. For these reasons, Blissey easily rose to the top tier in the current meta which might mean the end of Dragonite's reign as the strongest Pokemon.

However, some netizens are already beginning to suspect that the Pokemon is already broken. Even so, it is worth noting that the said monster does not have the highest potential CP in the game as Tyranitar still outclasses Blissey. On the other hand, it is still the highest monster by the sum of its stats which is followed by Pokemon like Snorlax, Tyranitar and Chansey, as per Forbes.

How to Own a Blissey

Similarly, players are still scouring to try and catch a Chansey which is a particularly rare Pokemon. Even if players manage to get their hands on one, they would still need to shell out 50 candies in order to evolve it. Nonetheless, there are still a surprising amount of Blissey that take the throne around various gyms.

Despite Blissey's strong stats, Dragonite still seems to be a strong contender in the mobile game. Other powerful pokemon included in the update are Espeon, Heracross and Scizor. Fans can download Pokemon Go for free on Google Play or the iOS App Store.
