After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S4 many smartphone enthusiasts are waiting for the purported Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Various rumors are already surfacing in the smartphone industry about the device and latest rumors suggest that the phablet will tout an 8-core CPU and GPU.

SamMobile cites a trusted insider and reports "the next generation Galaxy Note will have a 13 megapixel camera, an Exynos 5 Octa-Core processor, Mali 450 GPU with 8 cores and 3 GB of RAM."

The Samsung Galaxy Note 2 has unquestionably been the king of phablets in 2012 and now phablet enthusiasts will hope for even better specifications in the upcoming Galaxy Note 3.

"We know this insider has a nice track of good information before at SamMobile, even though we ask you to take this news with the usual pinch of salt as nothing has been confirmed yet," reports SamMobile.

The next-generation Galaxy Note 3 is expected to launch around August or September this year and as Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA 2012 event at Berlin, many market observers believe that the Galaxy Note 3 will also launch at the IFA 2013 event in Berlin.

The Galaxy Note 2 has a 5.55-inch Super AMOLED HD display, a Quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and an 8-megapixel camera. The device runs on Android 4.1.2 but will receive updates to Android 4.2.2 and higher.

When it comes to specifications, the Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be a step up. The handset is supposed to have a 5.99-inch SAMOLED Full HD Display, a 13-megapixel snapper, an Exynos 5 Octa Core (8 core) processor, Mali 450 (8 cores) GPU and 3GB RAM.

The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to run on Android 4.2.2 with Samsung's own Touch Wiz Nature UX 2.0 on top.

As the expected launch date is still months away we have to take the rumors with a pinch of salt and wait until Samsung makes an official announcement.
