Windows 8.1 Blue Powered Acer Iconia W3 Tablet Specs Leaked

Various rumors are surfacing that Microsoft is all set to launch the second-generation of the Surface tablets along with a new rumored operating system, the Windows 8.1 Blue. On the other hand, Acer seems to be a step ahead as reports suggest that the company has already developed an 8.1-inch tablet which will be ready to launch just after Windows Blue is officially released.

According to an Engadget report, the Acer Iconia W3 tablet hasn't been formally announced, but has popped up on Amazon with some details of the tablet.

"The page appears to be a bit incomplete, with the summary listing an '1.5 GHz Apple A4' in the processor field, which we can't imagine is correct," reports Engadget.

Engadget also reports that the tablet will have a dual-core Atom Z2760 processor, an 8.1-inch 1280 x 800-pixel CrystalBrite LCD display, integrated graphics with 64MB of memory, 32GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, 802.11a/b/g/n WiFi, 2-megapixel front- and rear-facing cameras, and a two-cell 3,500mAh battery, which will keep the tablet powered for up to 8 hours.

There is no information on when the tablet will officially release but with Amazon advertising the slate (probably in error), it seems that a launch will be sooner than expected.

Amazon has also priced the tablet at $379.99 and the tablet has a "temporarily out of stock" label. Unfortunately, Amazon seems to have realized the error and taken off the post.

Previous reports hint that smaller 7-inch and 8-inch tablets will make their appearances running on the upcoming Windows 8.1 Blue, as such it should not come as a surprise if Acer Iconia W3 will come running on the operating system.

We will have to wait until more information is revealed by Microsoft on the next-generation operating system Windows 8.1 Blue.
