It may seem hard to evoke, but just a few years back, Guardians of the Galaxy was still well-thought-out an obscure franchise. The comic has altered its line-up over the years, but the basic concept of an intergalactic form of the Avengers has continued since the team was first familiarized in 1969's Marvel Super-Heroes #18.
Back in 2008, though, Dan Abnett and Andy Landing boot up the team to include Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Groot, Rocket, and a few cosmic-power-driven personas. While supermen like Adam Warlock and Moondragon have yet to impression on screen, the other five members have become some of Marvel's most popular characters thanks to the 2014 live-action film adaptation.
Volume 2 Is Much Cooler Than Before
Based on the achievement of the movie, Marvel started whipping out Guardians merchandise and comics, putting an importance on Rocket and Groot. They also pinched the versions of the characters that already existed in their shared vigorous universe on Disney XD animation, when they turned the events of the live-action film into an animated TV series. While not tense into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the animated Guardians TV show still jumps off from the overall idea of the movie. Its first season shown to be a big hit for Disney and Marvel, and now season 2 is just around the corner, ready to give us another exciting adventure.
The Next Chapter Emphasizes On Individual Characters
News has continued circling around the live-action Guardians sequel, with word that a full trailer is coming soon. We've also erudite a bit more about Star-Lord and Ego's connection, and got our first look at Peter and Drax in the film. Not only that, Marvel and Hasbro has created a new batch of toys based on the comic and movie characters, and Telltale will be producing a game based on the heroes. Overall, it's definitely a good time to be a Guardians fan.
Marvel have broadcasted today that the new season of the series will debut on March 11th at 9 p.m. with a two-part premiere of the series. The episode will see the Guardians head back to Earth, where they'll have to team up with the Avengers to take on a menace to the planet.
