Nokia seems to be gearing up for its May 14 event in London, where it plans to launch a number of new smartphones. Previous reports suggested that the highly-anticipated Lumia 928 will make an appearance at the event along with the Lumia 925 or Catwalk and the EOS, but the latest rumors suggest that the Lumia 928 will miss the show in London.
"There's been a lot of talk about when and where the Lumia 928 for Verizon will be announced, the latest of which is suggesting an announcement in London on May 14th (alongside what will probably be the Lumia 925/Catwalk). Besides the obvious reason that the Lumia 928 is a US destined phone (and therefore will probably be announced in the US) we can confirm that the Lumia 928 will NOT be presented at the London event, although we don't know when it will actually be announced, we're confident that it won't be in London, nor on the 14th," notes MyNokiaBlog.
Many smartphone enthusiasts were extremely happy after Nokia posted a landing page of the handset on its website. But if the MyNokiaBlog report is to be believed, then many eager smartphone fans will have to wait a bit longer to learn more about the upcoming Windows Phone 8 (WP8)-powered Lumia 928.
Speculations suggest that the Lumia 928 will be heading to the U.S. carrier Verizon. The carrier is holding an event of its own on May 22 and we don't know what Verizon will pull out of the bag. If the Lumia 928 is not revealed on May 14 in London, then maybe Nokia wants to surprise smartphone buyers with the Lumia 928 at the Verizon event scheduled for May 22.
Nokia has not confirmed which handsets it plans to reveal at its May 14 event. As such, we will have to wait until the Finnish company takes the curtains off its mysterious devices.
