The Pokemon Go Gen 2 update brought in a lot of new Pokemon and features with one of them being expanded evolution. One item, the King's Rock, allows several pokemon like Slowpoke and Poliwhirl evolve to their more powerful counterparts.
Where To Find A King's Rock In Pokemon Go
According to Game Rant, the only way to get the King's Rock is the same way as hunting for evolution stones - finding one at a PokeStop. However, there are some ways to somewhat increase the odds of securing the item. In line with this, it is advisable to stay near areas that have a lot of PokeStops, which might mean having to travel to bigger cities.
While this might sound a bit tedious, it is also a great way to progress in some other areas of the game. Fans will be able to catch new monsters and hatch eggs while hunting for the King's Rock. Similarly, they might also stumble across evolution stones or similar items like the Metal Coat and Up-Grade along the way.
Evolve These Pokemon Using The Item
Once players manage to get their King's Rock, they can evolve either a Slowpoke or Poliwag into a Slowking or Politoed respectively, as per Eurogamer. Unlike the main games, the Pokemon mobile game does not require players to trade with each other in order to evolve their monsters. Instead, the process is much simpler and involves using candy instead.
Those who are looking for the pre-evolutions can most likely catch one near bodies of water. In order to evolve Poliwhirl to Politoed, fans need one King's Rock and 100 Poliwag Candy. On the other hand, fans need one King's Rock and 50 Slowpoke Candy to evolve their Slowpoke into a Slowking.
The Pokemon Go Gen 2 update includes other unique items that players can use to evolve certain monsters. Incidentally, the Pokemon Eevee has two new special evolutions, which involve another different process. Fans can start hunting Pokemon by downloading the game for free on Google Play or the iOS App Store.
