The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 may have a newly patented design that gives the world the first curved smartphone screen.
The design is also said to make the phone nearly indestructible.
The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office published over 20 design patents for Samsung.
Patent Bolt did a bit of digging among the usual smartphone designs and found the curved screen that has long been rumored to belong to the Galaxy Note 3.
The released images show a massive screen taking up most of the front of the phone, with room being left only for a speaker and camera sensor. That means no Home button.
The power button can be found on the top near the audio jack, a configuration Apple has been using for iPhones for some time now.
Aside from the curve, a new feature near the camera may catch your eye. There is now a flip cover over the lens of the camera. The functionality of this is not elaborated on in the patent images.
Rumors are swirling that the phablet will have a 5.9-inch screen, 2GB of RAM and 13MP camera. The front camera may also be able to shoot 1080p videos as well, if these reports pan out to be true. Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is expected to be included as well.
AndroidGeek speculates that the Galaxy Note 3 will be second to the Galaxy S5 in terms of featuring the new technology, as the S series has taken the lead thus far for Samsung.
The Galaxy Note 3 is expected to be unveiled any day now, with an expected release date of September.
