Some Kingdom Hearts 3 backstory was revealed during the game's official orchestra wherein some of the Japanese voice actors made an appearance. On the other hand, game director Tetsuya Nomura shares some more details about the new Keyblade features.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Backstory Revealed For Kairi
According to Twinfinite, the voice actors for Kairi, Xion and Aqua surprised fans by making an appearance at the Kingdom Hearts orchestra in Japan. At the event, actress Risa Uchida said a few lines that revealed what Kairi was doing after the events of the last mainline series game. Luckily, Twitter user "@momo_krys" was able to translate the quotes to English.
Since the previous game, Kairi has been training as a Keyblade wielder while waiting for her friends to return from their journey. She has chosen to take up her training as a way to help her friends this time around. On the other hand, she also noted that Lea has continued to apologize to her despite Kairi assuring him that everything is fine.
While she was scared at first, Kairi noted that she and Lea started talking to each other during training. She also discovered that Lea has a best friend he wants to protect. With this in mind, she feels like he is not someone she can bring herself to hate. Finally, she encourages Sora to remain cheerful and bright as his journey will "save many hearts."
Keyblades Will Have Two Transformations
That aside, Nomura recently had an interview wherein he shared more details about the upcoming game. There, he stated that the Keyblades they are making will have two transformation pattern, as per PlayStation Universe. There will be plenty of options similar to the Keyblade that transformed into a tank and shield.
Kingdom Hearts 3 still has no current release date as of now with Nomura revealing that the game is still under development. However, Square Enix will be releasing the highly anticipated Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 HD ReMIX for PS4. Similarly, this is also a significant year for the franchise as it marks its 15th anniversary.
