If you're in India and looking to lay your hands on Google's Nexus 4 you could soon be able to do so. Retailer Flipkart now has the Nexus 4 up for pre-order for Rs. 25,990 (approximately $475).
Earlier in May, reports hinted that the Nexus 4 was slated to make an appearance in India very soon and would arrive with a price tag of Rs 24,000 (approximately $447). The Nexus 4 was rumored to hit the Indian shelves by the end of May.
While Google is yet to officially release the Nexus 4 in India via its Play Store, the smartphone is now up for grabs via popular e-retailer Flipkart.
"It's finally here! The Google Nexus 4 is up for preorder - Zero Processing Fee on 3 & 6 month EMIs," tweets Flipkart.
Flipkart is offering free home delivery and the 4.7-inch smartphone is estimated to release by the fourth week of May per the website's pre-order page. The Rs. 25,990 price tag is inclusive of taxes and users have the cash on delivery option. Moreover, Flipkart gives a 30-day replacement guarantee.
The Nexus 4's pricing in India is steep when compared to its international counterparts.
The 8GB version of the smartphone costs $299 in the U.S. The reason for the higher price in India is because of no subsidy from Google for India sales.
Google also started retailing its Nexus 7 tablet via the Play Store in March this year and the tablet met with overwhelming response and was soon sold out on the Google Play Store. However, the Nexus 4 is shown as not available in India on the store. The 3G variant of the Nexus 7 went on sale via retail stores and online retailers in the region earlier this month; however, it is not available from the Play Store.
It remains to be seen if the Nexus 4 will generate as much excitement as the Nexus 7. To pre-order the Nexus 4 from Flipkart head here.
