Fossil Watch Group Promises 300 Smart Wearables From Its 14 Brands Including Adidas And Diesel

The smartwatch market has seen quite a number of new products during the Baselworld 2017 event. One of the most notable announcement, however, is probably the one that came from Fossil Group. The watch-giant said that it will release at least 300 smart wearables across its brands in this year alone.

Per GSM Arena, Fossil will be releasing smart wearables under 14 popular brands. This includes Adidas, Burberry, Diesel, DKNY, Emporio Armani and Marc Jacobs among many others. Of course, fans can also expect the company to release a smart wearable under the Fossil brand as well.

Diesel, on one hand, has already announced the On smartwatch at the said event. This device is equipped with a large touchscreen that pretty much fits its brand's fashion identity. Diesel is also expected to launch a holiday smartwatch lineup pretty soon.

Emporio Armani, on the other hand, will release its Android Wear smartwatch sometime in September. As for Fossil, two new smartwatches are expected to come out of the company's doors next fall - the Q Venture and the Q Explorist. Additional details about the upcoming watches reveal that each brand will have their own micro-app that is specifically tailored for each of the company's identity.

Do note, however, that these 300-plus Fossil wearables may not be entirely composed of smartwatches. Some of them are just generally "smart wearables" or hybrid watches that are simply a combination of mechanical watches and fitness trackers. Nevertheless, Fossil has been a well-known smartwatch maker in the fashion industry and this overwhelming goal of 300 units shouldn't be all that surprising.

Take note that since Fossil's first smartwatch in 2015, the company has already brought 150 smartwatches throughout 40 countries, as per PRNewswire. Executive VP of Fossil Brand Steve Evans says that as an innovator in the fashion watch industry, the company knows that they are able to launch a new watch category that will be relevant to the new generation.
