Sony's PS4 Console Pieced Together By Redditor

Not one to be outdone by Microsoft, Sony released a teaser trailer on Monday that offered a few fleeting glimpses of the PS4, ahead of the scheduled unveiling of the Xbox 720, which we now know is called the Xbox One.

For most, the teaser trailer did little to inform any impression of what the PS4 console will actually look like, save for a couple blurry and out of context frames showing parts of the PS4 that could well appear anywhere on the chassis. One enterprising Reddit user however, took the thirty or so frames of PS4 images released in the teaser and created a composite drawing of what Sony's next-generation console will actually look like.

The resulting image not only utilizes many of the design features revealed in the PS4 trailer, it's actually plausible, if not a little boring. The image and Reddit thread can be found here. Kotaku was among the first to report on the composite image after previously posting a collection of images culled from the PS4 teaser trailer.

The composite image, created by Reddit user Albino-Zebra and posted less than 24 hours ago is already garnering a fair amount of attention on Reddit, with over 900 comments and 14,000 up votes.

Microsoft unveiled the Xbox One earlier on Tuesday, making it the second next-gen console revealed so far, with the Wii U kicking off the latest product cycle back in November. Sony's PS4 will complete the next-gen lineup when it finally debuts, probably at E3, which begins June 11 in Los Angeles.

Some of the most humorous observations regarding the PS4 images have focused on what appears to be some sort of exhaust port. Kotaku reader KingpinLarry commented:

"Vents in the front, or Sony decided that 16 controller ports are better than 2."

What do you think of the PS4 composite image? Let us know in the comments.
