Square Enix has recently shared a list of games that will finally be released in the near future. Unfortunately, Final Fantasy VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 seem to be missing a few details.
No Final Fantasy VII Remake Nor Kingdom Hearts 3 This Year
Square Enix has been rather notorious lately for its lengthy development periods over the past few years. One prime example is Final Fantasy XV, which took over 10 years to make, yet still seemed somewhat lackluster in certain aspects. With this in mind, it seems like it might be gearing up to do the same thing for two of the other popular titles.
According to Twinfinite, the company recently revealed an info-graphic that showcased its recent releases and other future titles as well. Under the year 2017 was Final Fantasy XV, Deus EX, Rise of the Tomb Raider, World of Final Fantasy and a KH spinoff. For the "year 2018 and beyond," on the other hand, titles like Dragon Quest XI and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age had a caption stating that they would release later this year.
However, FFVIIR, KH3 and the recently announced Marvel IP do not have a set date. With this in mind, it can be assumed that these three titles fall under the "beyond" category. This comes off unsurprisingly enough due to the extreme lack of info the company has shared thus far.
Current Information On Both Games
GameZone reports that the last update they shared for KH3 was that it still had some "untouched worlds" with no new gameplay teasers shared. Meanwhile, FFVIIR is still "progressing" which is quite vague in terms of updates. While director Tetsuya Nomura has shared a bit of insight towards both games, he has been tight-lipped about any possible release date as of now.
Until then, fans have no choice but to wait for further updates regarding Kingdom Hearts 3 and the Final Fantasy VII Remake. There may be a chance that they could release in 2018 or possibly in the succeeding years to come.
