A retailer from China has just listed the OnePlus 5 on its website. The highly anticipated "flagship killer" is supposedly available for pre-order through GearBest and the listing shows its vastly impressive specs and unbelievably low price tag.
As Neowin pointed out, the GearBest pre-order listing also showed images of the OnePlus 5. The listing includes the front and back sides of the device which show that it will feature smaller bezels and will have a vertically arranged dual camera set-up at the back. The leak also indicated that the rear dual camera will have 23 megapixels while at the front is a 16 megapixel camera.
As for the listed specs, the OnePlus 5 will be powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 supposedly with a clock speed of up to 2.35GHz. It will also run on Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box and sport a 5.5-inch 2K (2560 x 1440 resolution) display according to the leak. The OnePlus 5 will also come with a non-removable 4000mAh battery which is rumored to have 2 to 3 days standby time, and 4G LTE connectivity.
Previous rumors said that the upcoming smartphone will also have the Adreno 540 GPU, 8GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage which is expandable to 128GB via microSD, a USB-C port for fast charging and audio output. The OnePlus 5 can supposedly accommodate two nano SIMs. The dual SIM slots are both compatible with 4G but only one will have access to LTE when both SIMs work simultaneously. The other SIM will receive WCDMA.
Another OnePlus 5 leak comes courtesy of Geekbuying, another online retailer. WCCFTech noted that the two new leaks indicate that the OnePlus 5 will likely be the second most affordable Snapdragon 835-powered smartphone once it officially comes out. Both listings peg the retail price of the OnePlus 5 at $449.99 for pre-order, almost $50 higher than one of its predecessors, the $399 OnePlus 3. Its standard retail price, however, is placed at $621.99 to $688 for the "global version". While the OnePlus 5 is more expensive than the OnePlus 3, it is quite expected due to the rumored high-end features applied to the upcoming handset. Despite the price increase, the OnePlus 5 remains a bang for the buck especially considering the Snapdragon 835-enabled Samsung Galaxy S8 with only 4GB of RAM retails for around $750 per unit.
The OnePlus 5, named after former NBA baller Robert Horry's jersey number, has already been confirmed to be coming this summer. Those in China who wish to get dibs on the OnePlus 5 may want to check out the said leaked listings regarding pre-order details. They may also want to check the credibility of the listing first.
