Sony is set to unveil its first flagship smartphone in years. The Sony Xperia XZ Premium is expected to put up a fight against other flagship handsets that are already making waves such as the Samsung Galaxy S8 as well as upcoming premium smartphones such as the much-hyped OnePlus 5 and HTC U 11.
For the Xperia XZ Premium to succeed against its rivals, it has to have something that keeps it a step ahead from the rest of the field. T3 was one of those invited by the Japanese tech company to Portugal where it got to review the XZ Premium. T3 noted how different the new flagship Sony smartphone is from its contemporaries.
One feature that sets the Xperia XZ Premium apart from the rest is its impressive camera. Its Motion Eye feature makes the already impressive 19-megapixel camera even better. The rear camera also provides arguably the best slow motion shots ever by a smartphone.
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium comes with a huge 5.5-inch display and is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chip which matches what the aforementioned flagships have. The XZ Premium also comes with a 4K HDR screen, an IP68 waterproof rating.
The Sony Xperia XZ Premium also boasts a beautiful design highlighted by the Glass Loop surface. The reflective surface makes one forget that it goes against the current trend of using bezel-less displays. The XZ Premium also comes in a variety of interesting colors that give the device that distinctive charm. When the Sony Xperia XZ Premium was first shown in late February at the 2017 Mobile World Congress it came in a Bronze Pink color. Aside from the pastel-like hue, the handset will be available in Deepsea Black which is actually a combination of blue and green that appears black when light reflects off it in the darker conditions. There is also a Luminous Chrome model which gives off a mirror-like Silver finish.
According to Tech Radar, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium can now be pre-ordered via Sony's official website and other retailers. Those who book for one right now from the company's website will get a free Sony MDR-NC750 headphones and speakers while a Sony XB-20 speaker is being given away with the pre-ordered Xperia XZ Premium by Amazon, Argos, unlocked mobile and other retailers.
