A new upcoming Xiaomi smartphone, namely the Xiaomi Mi A1 has been spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. The Xiaomi Mi A1 is rumored to be the Android One version of the company Mi 5X, the smartphone which was launched recently in China.
The Xiaomi Mi A1 has performed well on GeekBench with a single-core score of 852 and multi-core score of 3837. The performance looks to be on par with smartphones powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 that is expected to be under the hood of Xiaomi Mi A1 also. The listing Furthermore unveils that the smartphone offers 4GB RAM and runs Android Nougat 7.1.2 based MIUI out of the box.
Much about the Xiaomi Mi A1 apart from the Geekbench listing is still unknown. Recent reports claimed that the Xiaomi Mi A1 is likely to be Xiaomi's upcoming Android One-based device that is expected to launch soon. The 'A1' in the code name matches up with the guess as it could mean Android One (1). However, it should be noted that if this indeed is Android One smartphone then everyone might see the first smartphone from Xiaomi running the stock version of Android, as reported by Firstpost.
According to GizmoChina, Xiaomi Mi A1 could also be the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 5X as the benchmark results of 852 in the single-core benchmark and 3838 in multi-core benchmark is not that dissimilar from other alleged results from Xiaomi Mi 5X smartphone. This comes days after the Xiaomi confirmed the release date for its upcoming Xiaomi Mi Mix 2.
If Xiaomi joins Google to launch a stock Android smartphone then it will be a big win for the search giant that is struggling to limit the fragmentation within the Android ecosystem. Xiaomi has also confirmed that its new series will be available to grab exclusively on Flipkart.
