US Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3 finally gets Multi-Window View

An update for Samsung Galaxy S3 on US Cellular is now available to download, which will bring the highly-touted Multi-Windows View, and more, to the handset.

Samsung recently had rolled out the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update along with the Premium Suite, which includes Multi-Windows view, globally. However, the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean software update came with a twist to Galaxy S3 units in the U.S., as the update does not include Premium Suite and U.S. carriers have been rolling out the Premium Suite to their version of Samsung Galaxy S3 at their own pace.

U.S. Cellular released Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean to its Galaxy S3 in March this year but the Multi-Windows view feature was missing. However, the carrier has now released a software update which will bring Multi-Windows and other features to the handset.

The Multi-Window view feature enables you to simultaneously use two applications side by side. This feature is already available on the Galaxy Note 2 and the latest Galaxy S4, as well as on Galaxy S3 in other countries.

The software update also brings along Contextual Tagging which allows you to tag weather, place and people information automatically when you take a picture or video. The feature also adds place and time information when it was created.

Following the software update on your Galaxy S3, you will also get Contextual Menu, which will arrange applications in order of frequency of usage in Task Manager and Attachment list.

The latest update for U.S. Cellular Samsung Galaxy S3 will also bring Smart Switch, which is an easy-to-use tool for transferring content from other smartphones to Samsung mobile devices.

The US Cellular software update version R530UVXAMD4 is still based on Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Many customers would be hoping to get the latest Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean on their handset, but according to a recent report, it seems that the software release has been delayed for both Galaxy S3 and the Galaxy Note 2.
