T-Mobile has finally released the details on its upcoming flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone, the Nokia Lumia 925.
The carrier has now confirmed the price of the smartphone, along with the date consumers will be able to purchase the device.
Just as Nokia is getting ready to officially announce its 41-megapixel Lumia 1020 for AT&T, T-Mobile has decided to reveal details on the upcoming launch of the Lumia 925, its flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone. It will be the carrier's first 4G LTE Windows Phone and will be available on July 17 for the low price of $49.99 down with 24 equal monthly payments of $20 for well-qualified buyers.
The Nokia Lumia 925 will be the T-Mobile's flagship Windows Phone 8 smartphone for 2013. The handset features a 4.5-inch HD AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 and a pixel density of 334 pixels per inch (ppi), runs Windows Phone 8 and includes Nokia's Lumia Amber software update pre-installed. The Lumia 925 further packs a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 16GB of internal storage, 1GB of RAM, an 8-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, dual LED flash and optical stabilization, 4G LTE radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, a microSD expansion slot with support for up to 64GB of additional memory, and a 2,000 mAh non-removable battery. The smartphone also has the added benefit of having wireless charging capabilities out of the box and it is the first Lumia to include an aluminum frame for a more premium feel, though it still retains the polycarbonate shell the company has used in all of its Lumia smartphones.
The Nokia Lumia 925 already made its debut globally and has garnered positive reviews for its design and premium camera. As previously mentioned, the smartphone will come pre-installed with Nokia's Lumia Amber software update, which adds an always-on clock on the smartphone's display even while the device is turned off. Users will be able to turn the smartphone facedown to silence any incoming calls, and a new Smart Camera app is included to give the smartphone more advanced camera features.
