U.S. carrier AT&T has now reduced the price of the Nokia Lumia 1020 to $199.99 on a two-year contract.
Recently, Amazon had a one-day offer on the Nokia Lumia 1020 where the retailer cut the Lumia 1020's price to $199.99 from the normal price of $249.99. However, that discount was only for a day and the smartphone went up again to the regular price. Moreover, the price reduction was offered by Amazon and was not available from AT&T.
Nokia launched the Lumia 1020 in July this year and the handset is exclusive to AT&T in the U.S. The Lumia 920, Nokia's first top-end WP8-powered handset released back in Nov. 2012 was also exclusive to AT&T. The Nokia Lumia 920 gained popularity slowly but steadily and the handset is still amongst one of the most popular WP8 smartphones around.
The Lumia 1020 definitely includes top-end features. However, when compared to the Lumia 920, it's just a step up and many feel that it's too expensive. Both handsets have very similar specifications but the smartphones also have some notable differences.
The Lumia 920 features an 8.7-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera, while the Lumia 1020 boasts a whopping 41-megapixel PureView rear-facing camera. Moreover, the Lumia 1020 also includes more camera features when compared to the Lumia 920.

To enhance the picture taking experience of users, the Finnish company has also launched a Camera Grip especially for the Lumia 1020, which comes at an extra cost of $79.
AT&T is selling the black, red, cyan and yellow colors of the Lumia 920 for $49.99 on a two-year contract. The carrier has also decided to make the Lumia 1020 more affordable and is now selling the black, white and yellow variants of the 41-megapixel smartphone at a price tag of $199.99 on a two-year contract.
The Lumia 1020 is a smartphone with top-end features and high-end camera capabilities. Customers who are looking for both these features in a handset may get attracted to the Lumia 1020.
