It has been a year since Electronic Arts (EA) and Respawn Entertainment brought Star Wars Jedi: Survivor to the world, but it is notably exclusive to current-gen consoles including the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. This is now expected to change as the game will now be made available to to older-gen console platforms like the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with its release date already confirmed by the team.

This Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's release to previous-gen platforms is a port done by developers from its original version, which took a long time since the game's release.

EA's dedicated Star Wars page broke the news to fans who were widely anticipating the last-gen port of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This port now allow PlayStation 4 and Xbox One users to get the sequel experience. Currently, the company is already inviting users to pre-order the game on their respective previous-gen consoles. It has likewise confirmed that it will drop the game come September 17.

This comes after almost a year since EA and Respawn Entertainment originally announced that Jedi: Survivor is coming to previous-gen consoles, but it did not provide a timeline regarding its availability.

Additionally, the developers and publishers went radio-silent regarding their work behind Jedi: Survivor's older-gen platform availability. It should be noted that this is unlike other titles that saw delayed releases for the PS4 and Xbox One.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: Here's How to Preorder

After a long wait, there is only another month's waiting left before Star Wars Jedi: Survivor comes to the PS4 and Xbox One. Now, players have the guarantee that the game will be accessible to them with this latest confirmation from EA.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor's Success

Fans of the much-beloved Star Wars Jedi franchise since the Fallen Order's 2019 release have long awaited a sequel from Respawn Entertainment and EA. The franchise centers on Cal Kestis' story as he tries to outrun the Empire. The game focuses on a significant single-story adventure of Kestis, with many falling in love with his character and asking for a continuation of his quest to rebuild the Jedi Order.

This was fulfilled when EA and Respawn initially announced that it was working on a sequel in 2022 and promised that the game will arrive come 2023 for the world to enjoy. However, it was later announced by the developers that it will only focus on current-gen platforms like the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

It should be noted that EA and Respawn are not the first to launch a relatively new game to older-gen platforms. Similarly, Avalanche Software and WB Games later decided to Hogwarts Legacy on previous-gen platforms. It may have taken EA and Respawn a year to do the same and produce older-gen console ports for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, the confirmation that it will be available come September will surely excite the loyal fans of the franchise.
