Not too long ago, the Sony Xperia Z3 suddenly vanished from T-Mobile's portfolio, but the carrier has now re-added the smartphone to its lineup.
Earlier this month, news came out that the Sony Xperia Z3 was no longer available for purchase from T-Mobile. The carrier had made no announcement nor given any warning regarding its plans to ditch the smartphone, and the move raised several questions.
A T-Mobile representative confirmed at the time that T-Mobile had indeed removed the Sony Xperia Z3 from its lineup, without offering any additional explanations as to why the smartphone got the boot, or whether it was temporary or permanent.
It now turns out that the Sony Xperia Z3's absence from T-Mobile's portfolio was just temporary, as the handset is now available again from the carrier. Moreover, T-Mobile also made a significant price cut, now offering the Xperia Z3 for $130 less than its previous pricing.
More specifically, T-Mobile used to sell the contract-free version of the Sony Xperia Z3 for $630 before removing the smartphone from its lineup. The carrier is now selling the handset again, and this time it's for $499.92 without a contract. Interested customers can also choose a monthly installment plan and pay $20.83 per month for 24 months for the device.
This notable price cut is likely related to the recent launch of the new-generation Sony Xperia Z4 flagship, which made its debut earlier this week. It remains unclear for now just when the Sony Xperia Z4 will hit commercial availability worldwide, but the launch of a new iteration usually results in a discount for the previous model.
If you don't necessarily have to have the very latest flagship, the Sony Xperia Z3 from last year is still quite a powerful device and will provide a more than decent performance. The new price cut allowing for savings of $130 now makes the device even more attractive, despite the fact that it's no longer the current flagship.
