Just weeks after its release, "Stranger Things" have gained a lot of positive reviews already. This effect has led to Netflix deciding to not just renew the show for its second season, but to even create several more seasons.
When talking about the possibility of "Stranger Things" being renewed for a second season, the answer went way beyond what was expected. According to Screen Crush, executive producer of the show, Shawn Levy confirmed that there is indeed a multi-season plan for the show and even an additional of new characters.
The plan is reportedly continue with the existing characters to date while slowly introducing new ones into the picture by the next season. Despite the first season recently ending just yet, the talks of following seasons are already currently being worked on.
Digital Trends reported that even as early as less than a week after its premiere, actor Matthew Modine already gave the fans an unofficial confirmation of a second season. He also expressed that the show is indeed going to be an on-going series instead of what it was initially thought of, a stand-alone mini-series.
Co-creator of the show "Stranger Things", Matt Duffer confirmed that the second season will be more of a sequel rather than an entirely new second season. There have also been reports that by the end of the first season, issues will be resolved to an extent although not entirely. This is to give a continuous storyline for the next season.
Certain storylines of the characters are also going to be explored more on the second season. This includes the story of Eleven, who is a telepathic and telekinetic girl who sacrificed herself at the end of the first season. Another is Will Byers, whose condition could mean that the link between the two dimensions has been clearly cut off.
There is currently no date set yet for the second season of "Stranger Things," nonetheless it is very much awaited for.
