"Narcos" Season 3 finally kicked off its production. With some of the original cast confirmed to reprise their roles, a new set of characters will soon make their way to the hit series.
Recently, the official Twitter account of "Narcos" posted a photo confirming the return of DEA Agent Javier Peña as portrayed by Pedro Pascal. It was also revealed that members of the Cali Cartel which were introduced in Season 2 will also make a comeback as the story will now revolve in their group. This includes Gilberto Orejuela (Damian Alcazar) and his brother Miguel Rodriguez (Fransisco Denis) as well as Helmer "Pancho" Herrera (Alberto Ammann).
Reports revealed that there will be four new additions to "Narcos" Season 3 that will sure add to the series' excitement. "Cloverfield" star Michael Stahl-David and "Go Girls" Matt Whelan will be joining the cast as DEA agents. According to reports, Stahl-David will play the young Agent Chris Feistl while Whelan will be portraying his partner Agent Daniel Van Ness.
Meanwhile, "Broad City" star Arturo Castro and "Halt And Catch Fire's" Kerry Bishe were also reported to join the cast of "Narcos" Season 3. Castro will be playing William Rodriguez, Miguel's oldest son and will eventually take over Cali Cartel after his uncle and father were arrested. On the other hand, Bishe will play Christina, an American woman whose husband is involved in the cartel.
As for Boyd Holbrook, the actor has not confirmed his return in "Narcos" Season 3. It was reported that the real-life Steve Murphy did not stay long in Colombia following Pablo Escobar's death. It was said that the agent returned to the US in June 1994. However, executive producer Eric Newman seems to be looking forward to his return, saying, "I am really proud of Murphy's story and the evolution. One of the things you have to consider is: Is his story over?"
