This coming Tuesday, PlayStation Network Senior Vice President Eric Lempel took to Sony's PlayStation blog to convey the news that the company has thrown the doors open to a 2-week long sale in celebration of the PlayStation Store's 10th year anniversary. The event will cover some games published for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and the PlayStation Vita consoles, as well as some digital video content. The discounted items that will be offered this week will revert back to their original pricing at exactly 8 A.M. PT on November 15.
Discounts, and more discounts!
While Lempel is listing the entire week's batch of discounted games and videos in his blog post, it is important to know that the PlayStation 4 will also receive some important discounts for us to finally be able to afford it. Keep in mind that PlayStation Store customers will be receiving an even larger discount if they will be able to subscribe to PlayStation Plus. That is practically Sony's method of forcing PlayStation 4 owners to pay for online multiplayer support, but with the added benefits of online game save storage and discounted prices.
Some games that will be discounted next week
When you look at the current discounts offered on the older PlayStation 3 console, Sony seems like it's focusing on its library of PSOne and PlayStation 2 classics. There are only a handful of titles outside the 'classics' lineup that is currently on sale. Titles Such as Fez, Fat Princess, Flow, Noby Noby Boy, Hotline Miami, The Prototype Franchise Bundle, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Gold Edition.
10th Anniversary Avatar
The final notes point towards PlayStation console owners who have PlayStation Store accounts that are 9.5 years or older will be receiving a free, exclusive PlayStation 4 avatar to commemorate the storefront's 10-year anniversary celebration. Further details on this avatar feature will be provided through email soon. Until then, customers can get their hands on a free 10th Anniversary theme for the PlayStation 3 on any PlayStation Stores nearby.
