Rumors of the purported Motorola X Phone have been surfacing in the smartphone space for quite a while but it's the first time that pictures have leaked for the handset. Sources also indicate that the leaked images are legit.
@evleaks has posted a few pictures of the upcoming Motorola X Phone on Twitter which are believed to be legit.
"We've seen leaks before, but according to our sources, this one is legit. Pics have been released by EvLeaks, who has a more positive than not reputation for good leaks, showing the Motorola X Phone. Or, we could start referring to the device by its codename: Ghost. Much like the Nexus 4 was mako, and the Nexus 7 was grouper. The Moto X Phone is codenamed Ghost," reports Phone Arena.
Unfortunately, the pictures do not show much of the actual phone as it seems that the handset has got a black non-disclosure case. Phone Arena cites sources and says that the rear panel in the picture is the device itself and not the case.
The phone matches certain rumored details like the headphone jack centered on the top edge of the device, and the power and volume buttons both on the right edge of the device, like the Nexus 7. The label on the back of the handset is a bit difficult to read, but it does list the model of the device as "XFON ATT". Previously, Motorola has had very close ties with U.S. carrier Verizon, and Google has never launched an official Nexus device through AT&T. But this time rumors hint that the X Phone will release on Verizon and AT&T; however, it will also support all other major carriers.
Phone Arena sources also indicate that the M logo on the top left corner of the handset appears on all Motorola prototype devices and it is unlikely to appear on the actual device.
Neither Motorola nor Google have confirmed the X Phone but rumors indicate that the handset will make its appearance in July this year. We will have to wait until an official announcement is made and the wraps are taken off the much-awaited Motorola X Phone.
Do you think that the leaked images of the Motorola X Phone are legit?
