Recently, Samsung has launched one of the most-awaited Android smartphone, the Galaxy S4, and now the company confirms its plans to unveil the 5.9-inch Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA event in Berlin this year.
A Korea Times report cites Samsung officials and says "The Suwon, Gyeonggi Province-based outfit is developing the Note3 with a 5.9-inch OLED display. The device will debut at this year's IFA trade fair in Berlin, Germany, officials said."
Samsung launched the Galaxy Note 2 in Aug. 2012 and the 5.5-inch phablet still remains one of the most powerful handsets around. The success of Galaxy Note 2 has left phablet enthusiasts expecting an even better successor.
Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note 2 at the IFA event in 2012 and it will be one full year before the company will unveil the Galaxy Note 3 at the IFA 2013.
Previous rumors suggest that the Galaxy Note 3 would feature a flexible display but Samsung Electronics co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun said that "more time will be needed," indicating that the much-anticipated phablet will miss out on the flexible display.
According to a SamMobile report, the Galaxy Note 3 will have a similar design and will feature a similar polycarbonate case like the Galaxy S4.
If rumors are to be believed then the Galaxy Note 3 will include the octa-core design, which features a quad-core 1.9GHz Cortex A15 and a quad-core 1.6GHz Cortex A7 processor.
The upcoming handset is expected to sport a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera and the handset will supposedly use Android 4.3 Jelly and not the Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie as originally believed.
The Galaxy Note 3 is another Samsung smartphone, which many smartphone users are waiting for eagerly. The IFA event is set to start on September 6, which will be a long wait from now.
