Top 3 little-known features of Samsung Galaxy S4 revealed

Samsung's flagship smartphone for 2013, the Galaxy S4, is making waves in the consumer space and has already crossed the 10 million units sold milestone. The sales success of the Galaxy S4 bears testimony to its popularity among consumers and we take a look at some of the not-so-touted features of the smartphone.

The Samsung Galaxy has several features that are hidden deep within the confines of the menu and settings. You would normally have to dig deep to get the most out of your Galaxy S4, but we here, at iTech Post, will make it easy for you.

Check out our pick of the top three little-known features of the Samsung Galaxy S4 and how to access them.

1. Access alerts with Air Gesture

The Galaxy S4 has a feature that will enable users to access notifications and alerts without physically touching the smartphone.

How to do this? It's pretty simple. Go to Settings > My Device > Motions and Gestures > Air Gesture > Quick Glance > On.

Once the Quick Glance is switched on, hover your hand over the Galaxy S4's display and you're good to go .

The Quick Glance feature basically turns the display on and shows missed calls, new texts, battery status, time and icons in the notification bar.

However, a downer is that you will not be able to tap on any of the above to jump to the apps or unlock your smartphone, but you can check out what made your phone beep.

2. Use the Galaxy S4 with gloves on

If you thought only the touchscreen of Nokia Lumia 920 was capable of working smoothly even when you have gloves on, think again. The Galaxy S4's display too is sensitive enough and you can use the smartphone with gloves on.

This feature, however, is turned off by default and you would need to set it up. To do this go to Settings > My Device Tab > Display > High-touch Sensitivity > On.

Once on, you will be able to operate your Galaxy S4 easily even with gloves on.

3. Click snaps with a voice command

With a simple voice command, you can click pictures from your Galaxy S4's camera. This feature comes in handy if someone you know is not familiar with the handset and cannot operate it to take a photo. To turn this feature on, navigate to the Camera app > Tap Menu > Settings > click the settings cog > Scroll to Voice Control > click On.

Once the set-up is complete, simply give the voice command - smile, capture, cheese or shoot - to take a snap without physically touching your Galaxy S4.
