Best Buy could start taking pre-orders for the new Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge this week, if a new leak turns out to be accurate.
The Samsung Galaxy S6 flagship and Galaxy S6 Edge curved-display variant made their official debut back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 earlier this month, and are set to hit retail in April. The two handsets have already gone up for pre-order in some regions, and U.S. pre-orders may become available later this week.
The news comes from a Reddit user, who revealed some interesting tidbits of information regarding the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge launch in the U.S.
"I was in Best Buy today and a guy at the Samsung desk told me he had been to a Samsung event the previous weekend where he spent some time with the new devices. He said both would be in the store on 3/27, that they'd be taking pre-orders for 4/10 launch on AT&T, Verizon & Sprint at that time starting 3/27. Also, pre-orders would come with 'a free device,'" reveals the Reddit post in question.
In other words, come Friday, March 27, Best Buy could start accepting pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge on AT&T, Verizon Wireless, and Sprint. It remains unclear at this point just what "free device" Best Buy will offer when pre-ordering one of the two smartphones, but it could be a wireless charger. The two handsets should officially hit commercial availability on April 10, which is the same date the HTC One M9 archrival will go on sale in the U.S.
While all of this sounds quite exciting for Samsung fans, keep in mind that it all remains in the rumor state at this point. Neither Best Buy nor Samsung have officially confirmed this news yet, so it is highly advisable to take it with a grain of salt for now.
If Best Buy indeed plans to open up pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge this Friday, March 26, it should make an official announcement shortly. We'll make sure to keep you posted as soon as more information comes to light.
